Sam Loggie

South African born Sam Loggie studied Fine Art at The Johannesburg School of Arts before settling in London. Sam enjoyed sculpting as a serious hobby while forging her career in public relations. She left the corporate world 3 years ago in order to spend more time with her two small daughters, and took up sculpting as a profession. She studied at The Slade School of Art (UCL) and completed a course in Figurative Sculpture. Her distinctive way of modelling the surface of the clay imbues her work with movement and character – and her specialisation in strong female and male figurative studies, although Classical in inspiration, are also suitable for a contemporary environment. Sam has completed a number of portrait bust commissions for a mix of private and corporate clients. Sam says of her work: “I am obsessed with the aesthetic beauty of the human form, and I work to capture its subtle mix of power and vulnerability which I find so inspiring.”
