Pitch Tangpun

I have been working on a series of my childhood memories for the past few years.  My work concentrates on personal belongings from my childhood days and my feelings that were attached to each one of them.  As the time passes, these memories linger on my mind whether it was pleasurable playtimes or lonely times. In my recent work, I capture the moment in my mind when the old memory is fading, replaced by new stimulants; new toys.   It is just like the picture on the old television screen when you see numerous static vertical lines the split second before the screen is completely turned off.I enjoy exploring new media in my work.  I find brass plates and acid fascinating to work with; they have a mind of their own and some of my work is merely a natural result of the interaction of these substances.  At times, I manipulate this interaction by silkscreening pictures of myself, my family, and my childhood friends to create a backdrop of the story.
