Lou Thornton MA

Lou Thornton works as both a lecturer in fine art and a fine artist and has taken part in many solo and group exhibitions around the UK and Europe.

She describes that the aim of her work is to “…be provoking - political even, the consideration of what it is to be alive - stuff - love - death we are all obsessed by these but this obsession is both funny and sad”. This contrast is often clearly visible within her work which frequently appears to be playful yet has a sinister undertone.
